When I was in first year of journalism I had to read many books about the new journalism, investigation and about how the politician are owners of all. When I was in etica class, I had with the miss Maria Olivia Monckeberg, an important chilean journalist and researcher. But in the list of text to read that we had with my classmates, was not one of the most amazing book that I read in my life.
I'am talking about "Voices from Chernobyl". It is a sumarry of interviews with victims of the explosion in the Chernobyl nuclear plant. The interviews were done by Svetlana Aleksievich, a russian journalist that was won very awards by the way that she write. She's fantastic.
Well, this year, in may, HBO realese a serie about this story. We could be talking for hours about the differents points about Chernobyl, but today I wanna talk about the lies and how their make the difference.
Don´t matter if you are communist or capitalist. If you are a lier, you are a person with many demons. Yes, I know that this sound a little religius, but in this serie, we can see how the power and the money, is more important that the people.
My favourite scene is when the scientific, Valery Legasov, had to tell the truth in front of the judge in the final trial. On this part we can see how as a man that wants help, is attacked by his previous lies. Per finally the truth wins, even when his life is over. And my favourite actress is Emily Watson, by her interpretation of the scientific of physic Ulana Khomyuk.
Well, finally I can say that this serie make me think tath the only truth is that we live in a lie. The way to out of any lie is tell the truth. But, we are sure that when we say the truth, really we dont say a lie?
